Melodifestivalen 2026 participants revealed

The Swedish broadcaster SVT has officially unveiled the 30 artists competing in Melodifestivalen 2026—Sweden’s iconic national selection and one of the most-watched music events in Europe. The winner will earn the honour of representing Sweden at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna.


This year’s contest will follow the traditional format of five heats, each featuring six artists, before culminating in a spectacular grand final.

🌟 Familiar Faces & Big Returns


This year’s lineup includes several high-profile names:


  • Past Melodifestivalen winners:


    • Sanna Nielsen, who won in 2014 with the fan-favourite “Undo”

    • Robin Bengtsson, winner in 2017 with “I Can’t Go On”


  • Fan favourites returning to the Melfest stage:

    Arwin, Grezula, Medina, Meira Omar, Smash Into Pieces

  • A notable rebrand:

    Felicia, who previously competed as FRÖKEN SNUSK in 2024, returns under her new stage name.

  • A major international name:


    AleXa, the winner of the American Song Contest 2022 with “Wonderland”, joins the competition—sparking huge excitement among Eurovision followers.




🏆Grand Final Details


The Melodifestivalen 2026 Grand Final will take place at the Strawberry Arena in Stockholm on Saturday, March 7th.


A total of 12 acts will qualify for the final, where the winner will be chosen through a combination of jury votes and televoting.



🇸🇪A Look Back


Last year, Sweden was represented by KAJ with “Bara Bada Bastu”, achieving an impressive 4th place in the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final with 321 points.


With returning legends, international stars, and plenty of fresh talent, Melodifestivalen 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated editions in years.
